Wikis

Wikis was first created in 1995 for the Portland Pattern Repository.
Wikis in plain terms is a simple online database. Wikis allows group organization and also allows people to freely create and edit a web page. This newer technology is a lot more organized than email, eliminates the time email takes and there will be less confusion. One subject a person or people might use this for is organizing a group trip. A person could make a list of what they need and the rest of the group members could alter the list by using the edit button found on the screen. If you need help understanding further this is a great website http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dnL00TdmLY&NR=1.
Wikis could be used in Sport Administration because it would save a lot of time, it would be a good place to build ideas off of your co-workers, and it would be a great organizer.

Bio

Hi my name is Derrick Johnson and I am twenty years old. I was born and raised in Girard, Pa and attended Girard High school. There I played in three sports, football, baseball, and track. Now I am a Lock Haven University student and I am currently in my junior year taking up sports administration.
In high school I took a class learning how to use PowerPoint, Excel, and many other Microsoft tools, I also took a typing class in high school that taught me the specifics with working on computers and also the old type writers. My sophomore year here at Lock Haven University I had an accounting class which enhanced my Microsoft excel knowledge.
I plan to use technology in my field of work a lot. Obviously the computer will probably be my main tool and along with it comes the programs such as Microsoft office that can help me organize and plan events, meetings, and programs.
